Christmas Tree Recycling Program

(and disposal information)

All El Dorado County residents may bring their Christmas trees to Waste Connections (MRF) to be recycled free of charge. There is an unlimited number of trees for drop-off at MRF. Waste Connections is located at 4100 Throwita Way, Diamond Springs. Call (530) 626-4141 or click here for more information. (Click here for driving directions).

EL DORADO HILLS RESIDENTS ONLY:

The El Dorado Hills Community Services District and Waste Connections will be sponsoring free tree chipping at the Community Park, North entrance. Additional drop off will be available at the recycling center located on Latrobe Road. For more information call EDH CSD at (916) 933-6624.

CAMERON PARK:

Christmas trees will be recycled by Cameron Park CSD. Drop off your Christmas trees at Cameron Park Lake, 2989 Cambridge Road, in the lower gravel parking lot - look for signs. Open everyday 7:00 am to dusk - Free of Charge! Remove all ornaments and tinsel prior to drop-off. The trees will be chipped and the distribute the organic material will be distributed around Rasmussen Park. Please call (530) 677-2231 for more information.

CITY OF PLACERVILLE AND UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF EL DORADO COUNTY WITH WASTE CONNECTIONS SERVICE:

Christmas trees will be picked up at your curbside on your regular garbage collection day. Make sure you cut and bundled your tree into small pieces (less than 3' long). Call Waste Connections if you have any questions (530) 626-4141.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE:

South Tahoe Refuse (STR) will provide residential customers curbside pickup of Christmas trees. There is no charge for this service. Remove all tinsel and ornaments, and cut trees into 6' or smaller lengths. Call STR at (530) 541-5105 if you have any questions.

SOUTH COUNTY - RESIDENTS WITH AMADOR DISPOSAL, INC., SERVICE:

Trees are collected at curbside for no additional charge. Not date specific. Call Amador Disposal at (209) 274-2454 if you have any questions.

NORTHWEST COUNTY - RESIDENTS WITH SIERRA DISPOSAL, INC., SERVICE:

Trees are collected at curbside for no additional charge. Not date specific. Call Sierra Disposal at (530) 621-4746 or (800) 464-4601 if you have any questions.
