El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority
The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority (or "West Slope JPA") formed in 1996 to provide paramedic ambulance service to the Western Slope service area of El Dorado County. The JPA's administrative offices are located in Diamond Springs across the street from Fire Station 49.

The West Slope JPA operates seven full-time ambulances and two part-time ambulance (click here for locations). The units are dispatched by the CAL FIRE Emergency Communications Center (ECC) at Camino.
The West Slope JPA has a five-year contract with the County for ambulance services from July 2006 to June 2011, and has a $9.1 million operating budget for FY 2007-08. Paramedic ambulances on El Dorado County's western slope responded to over 12,708 medical calls during 2007. The service is funded thru County Service Area 7.
