The following services are offered through the IHSS Public Authority:
- Maintaining a Registry to match care providers and recipients
- Recruiting Registry care providers including criminal background screening and reference checks
- Enrolling and orientating all IHSS care providers
- Providing free care provider and recipient training and education
- Providing IHSS support, enhancements, and quality assurance
- Fostering positive working relationships between recipients and care providers
- Assisting recipients with employment issues such as: hiring, creating a work schedule, supervising, and terminating care providers
- Assisting the IHSS Advisory Committee
- Coordinating health benefits for care providers that meet the eligibility requirements
