Congregate Dining
You are invited to enjoy a hot, nutritious meal, Monday through Friday, at any of our seven Senior Dining Centers located throughout El Dorado There are a wide variety of activities held at the Senior Dining Centers throughout the Western Slope and at South Lake Tahoe. Click here to see what activities are available in the County. Lunch is served between 12:00 -12:30 p.m for the suggested donation of $3.00 per meal. If you are 60 years of age or older, you are welcome to enjoy a meal in the company of other older adults. For information please call: ( 530) 621-6160.
Home Delivered Meals
Are you homebound? Do you know someone who is? Individuals who are medically or physically disabled, and 60 years of age or older, can receive a hot nutritious meal delivered to their home Monday through Friday, with frozen weekend meals available upon request. The suggested donation for home delivered meals is $3.00 per meal. Eligibility is determined by staff assessment.
Volunteers
The Senior Nutrition Program is supported by a core of dedicated volunteers that include home delivered meal drivers who deliver meals one day a week between 10:30 to noon,kitchen and dining room volunteers who help with set-up, lunch service and clean up and volunteers who work at our sign-in desk.
Gift Certificates
Give a gift of good health and nutrition. Encourage an elderly family member, friend or neighbor to enjoy a meal prepared by the Senior Nutrition Program by giving them a gift certificate good for one meal or eight. Single coupons are available for the suggested donation of $3.00 each. A coupon for eight (8) meals is available for the suggested donation of $24.00. Call our office for more information.
You can help Senior Nutrition Services meet the needs of our local community by making a tax-deductible contribution. A donation of any size will go directly to the Senior Nutrition Program to help meet the food costs and maintain services. You can make a tax-deductible contribution at one of the seven Nutrition meal sites or by mail. At your request, we will send you an acknowledgement of your contribution for tax purposes, or you may donate anonymously. Donate a one-time or recurring contribution, consider a gift in honor or memory of someone, or call the Senior Nutrition Program at 530-621-6160 to learn more.
