January 11, 2012, at approximately 7:00 am El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies responded to a possible arson in Mt. Aukum. Sheriff's deputies arrived at the residence located on the 8200 block of Kirk Lane, Mt. Aukum, which was partially on fire. Pioneer District Fire personnel were on scene and fighting the fire.
Based on the deputy’s investigation, it appears that the resident's house guest (identified as Amber Nash) is believed to be responsible for the residential fire.
Deputies located Nash in the area and arrested here for attempted homicide and arson. Nash was transported to county jail and is being held without bail.
