RESCUE GROUPS

If you can't find the dog or cat you want at our shelter, there are many other places to look.

  1. First check other shelters in our community.
  2. Check with breed rescue groups in the area. These groups often take purebred dogs and cats from shelters and from owners who are trying to find new homes for their pet. Generally, these groups specialize in a certain breed of dog or cat. A list of dog rescue groups in the Placerville / Sacramento area can be found at the following website: www.sacramentodogcouncil.com. A list of cat rescue groups can be found at the following website: www.rescuers.com.
