Permit
Application Part 1 for all permit applications, building, mechanical, grading. Please review the information sheet part 1 before filling out the form.
Permit Application Part 2 is general information that needs to accompany the permit application.

Permit Application Part 3 is information concerning the expiration of the application and permit. Please read and sign the form at the bottom.
Permit Application Part 4 is required if you are applying as owner builder. Please review the description of owner builders for very important legal information.
Permit Application Part 5 is required if a licensed contractor wishes to authorize an employee to act on his behalf for applying and signing for permit applications only. Please read and only a licensed contractor may sign the form at the bottom. Current license and insurance status will be verified by using the Contractors State License Board web site.
If applying for a new structure, addition, or alteration and you will be using the 2008 California Title 24 Certificate of Compliance "prescriptive method" for calculations, visit the CEC website for all forms needed with the permit application.
Contact an energy consultant for the Certificate of Compliance if the performance approach is utilized for compliance and produced by CEC approved Performance ACM software.

completed and printed before visiting Building Services. The signature
will be verified at the time of application and a copy made for your
records. Please do not fax these forms to our office for processing.
Once completed, bring to either one of our offices for processing. You may use the convenience of sending by mail. See our "mail-in"

The requests can be printed on your printer. Fill in each request
completely and then mail or fax to Building Services for information.
Please allow three working days to complete the requested information.
The form will then be faxed or mailed back to you. Forms not completely
or accurately filled in may delay the response.

at a later date. We have included lists and information documents
in PDF format for your use. All documents with any statements and
policies pertain only to El Dorado County Building Services.
Assessor's
Builder's Exclusion [.pdf]
Completed new construction may be excluded
from supplemental assessment under certain circumstances. The following
application form is need for the exclusion from supplemental assessment.

The State of California requires a Certificate of Occupancy be issued
for the installation of a permanent
manufactured dwelling as a fixture on real property. Use the
following forms to request the recording of the dwelling to become
taxable real property and not as "chattel" by El Dorado
County and to notify the County Assessor's office of this change.
Fees payable to State of California Housing
and Community Development (HCD) may be delayed due to the installation
of the unit(s) and any check received at issuance may need the date
updated before sending to HCD.
Alternative Materials Request
The use of alternate materials, design or methods of construction must be approved by the Building Official prior to construction. It is the responsibility of the permit applicant to provide supporting documentation demonstrating that the alternate is at least the equivalent of that prescribed in the code and shall consist of valid research reports from approved sources. Read the instructions in the cover letter then complete the alternate materials, design or methods of construction request form and forward to the Building Official at Building Services.
