Rafting
Program
To prevent the possible transmission
of diseases and illnesses, the Rafting Program regulates
food handling and sewage disposal
by commercial rafting outfitters operating on
the South Fork of the American River. El Dorado County
Environmental Health is responsible for regulating
commercial rafting companies because they cater to
the public and offer food at the retail
level.
The program includes plan review for
compliance with the California
Health and Safety Code and routine inspections
of kitchens and campgrounds.
