ALS Standards of Care Manual

The goals of this ALS Standards of Care (SOC) manual are: to educate El Dorado County paramedics on the medical conditions they encounter in the field; to provide supplemental information that explains the intent and content of the protocols; and to provide training materials for Field Training Officers to utilize as they orient paramedic interns and accreditation candidates to the El Dorado County EMS system. The intent is not to replace the protocols, but to provide background information on their content and explain to paramedics what is expected as “standard” in regards to patient assessment and treatment for each individual medical condition.
