Air Ambulance Service

When a remote location, severe trauma, winter weather conditions, or other factors threaten a patient's outcome, a helicopter air ambulance may be used to airlift the patient to a receiving hospital or trauma center, saving precious minutes. El Dorado County is served by several air ambulance services with professional and highly-trained flight crews:

California Highway Patrol – aircraft based at Auburn (Valley Division)
CALSTAR - aircraft based at Auburn, Jackson, and South Lake Tahoe
Care Flight – aircraft based at Gardnerville and Truckee
REACH Air Medical Services – aircraft based at Lodi, Marysville, Concord and Santa Rosa
