Community First Aid Training and CPR Classes

CPR

The American Red Cross offers the following courses at their headquarters (8928 Volunteer Lane) in Sacramento. Starting in July, all CPR courses will be based on the updated CPR Guidelines published by the American Heart Association in November 2005. The course fee includes all materials. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. For more information, call: (866) 656-9272.

Adult CPR w/ Automatic External Defibrillation (AED)
This course teaches adult CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Fee: $35

Basic First Aid
This course teaches how to deal with cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock, bleeding, an other first aid emergencies. Fee: $35

Adult, Child and Infant CPR
This course teaches CPR for adults, children and infants. Fee: $50

Basic First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR
The course covers many first aid emergencies and CPR. Fee: $60

 

The El Dorado Hill Community Service District also offers the following courses;

Heartsaver Adult/Child/Infant CPR and AED
One-person basic technique of CPR for all ages, how to use an AED, how to use barrier devices and how to treat a choking patient. Learn how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign-body airway obstruction. Textbooks are available for purchase at class. Participants will receive a two-year course completion card from the American Heart Association.
Fee: $70 / $60 resident discount

Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR and AED

Pediatric CPR & First Aid
This is an infant, child and adult CPR and First Aid emergency medical response training course. Learn how to treat the most common childhood injuries and emergencies. A single two year course completion card will be issued upon course completion. There is no textbook for this class. Student packets will be issued in class.

Note for licensed daycare providers: This class is approved by State Daycare Licensing. The Licensing Board requires us to affix their approval sticker to your card at a cost of $6, please pay this at class.
Fee: $75 / $65 resident discount

Healthcare Provider CPR
This course teaches CPR skills (1 and 2 rescuer method) for helping victims of all ages and includes ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for the serious healthcare professional. It is valid for college entrance prerequisites and accepted by all California State Boards. Textbooks are available for purchase at class. Upon successful completion of a written test, participants will receive a two-year course completion card from the American Heart Association.
Fee: $65 / $55 resident discount
