*IMPORTANT NEWS*
Effective January 1, 2007, the National Registry (NREMT) will implement computer based testing for EMT’s. The NREMT has contracted with Pearson VUE, a computerized testing company, to offer the tests. The closest test center for El Dorado County is located in Roseville.
Individuals wishing to take the NREMT test will need to follow these steps:
1. While enrolled in your EMT course, apply on the NREMT website; pay by credit card or send in a money order before taking the test.
2. Once you finish the course, your instructor will need to validate that you have successfully completed the course, including skills competency, on a password protected portion of the NREMT website.
3. After completing the first two steps, you will be notified by the NREMT that you are eligible to make an appointment to take the exam.
4. Schedule a time to take the test by contacting Pearson VUE via phone at (866) 673-6896 or accessing their website at www.vue.com/
5. Test results will be available at the NREMT website, in most cases, the next business day.
